Art Deco Reno: Ambassador OKC

by Malena Lott

Another Cinderella story to report for a historic Art Deco building in Midtown in Oklahoma City at 1200 North Walker. The Osler Building, originally a medical offices building in 1929 through the 1960s, is now an Ambassador Hotel Collection boutique hotel with a full service restaurant on the first floor, 56 rooms and a cool bar on the 7th floor including a terrace with a gorgeous view of the skyline (at least come sunset).

I’ve visited the space twice – first on a double date on a Friday night and then after work with girlfriends for a drink at the bar. By far, the space is best experienced in the evening, where you can see the sunset from the 7th floor and then subsequently all the downtown lights and the romantic ambience of the space. The space is carefully curated with elegant furnishings and glamour fitting for the Art Deco building. The dreamy color palette and lights were my favorite attractions. The Okie Mule was pretty good, too. (Note: if you come after work, the bar does not offer food and the nuts and chips are not complimentary.)

A few shots that showcase some of my favorite things…
