Hey, It’s Land Run Time!

d1edd38ce1d2449d5649e1688a49ef8dSchool children throughout the Sooner State will be celebrating the unique history of Oklahoma this week with Land Run celebrations. You can get in on the fun commemorating the Land Run of 1889 with these festivals around the state.

The Guthrie ’89er Day Celebration takes place April 15th-19th and will include a parade, carnival, chuck wagon feast, rodeo, 5K, barn dance and more.

The Land Run at Choctaw Creek Park festival on April 17th and 18th is tailored to school children. This living history festival will include historical presentations, old-fashioned games, food vendors and more.

Lexington’s 89’er Festival is scheduled for April 19th. Carnival rides, live music, a car show, parade, rodeo and a 5K and 10K Trail Run are just a few of the exciting events planned.
